Christ Lutheran Joins Pacific Lutheran High School Association of Congregations

May 1st, 2023

Christ Lutheran Church and School gives God all the praise in announcing that it has joined the Pacific Lutheran High School Association of Congregations.

This marks our next step in ministry that advances Christian education in the greater South Bay area of Los Angeles.

We join eight other LCMS congregations spread across Los Angeles and Orange counties in pledging our prayer, service, and support toward Pacific Lutheran.  These include Immanuel Lutheran (Redondo Beach), First Lutheran (Manhattan Beach), Immanuel Lutheran (Orange), Our Savior Lutheran (Westchester), The Good Shepherd Lutheran (Inglewood), Ascension Lutheran (Torrance), Trinity Lutheran (Whittier), and Bethany Lutheran (Long Beach).

For our beloved Christ Lutheran congregation, this further joins us in the greater body of Christ to spread the gospel and raise up disciples through Lutheran education.  It invites a nearby community of students and families to join us in worship and ministry, especially our growing youth ministry.  As well, we count among our members several educators who teach at Pacific Lutheran and know that this development encourages their good work.

For our school families and community, this clarifies our commitment to the highest standard of education in the area.  We are paving a clear path forward from our tremendous Preschool – 8th grade ministry through to secondary education that is local, affordable, and most importantly, rooted in Christ.

We thank Principal Lucas Fitzgerald and the Association Board of Directors for their invitation to join them in support of this ministry.

We will plan in the upcoming weeks a Q&A opportunity where Mr. Fitzgerald can join our church and school leadership to answer questions about the prospects and promise of our new association together.

In Christ’s Service,

Mike Cooley
